Document analysis 1
As listed in your syllabus, students are required to write two document analysis in the course of the year. The first one is due on October 21st and we will discuss the assignment in tutorial on the week of October 7th, when the assignment will be posted. For now, I leave you with Calvin’s take on the purpose of writing.

The files you will need to write this assignment were published in this post. I have distributed this handout during tutorial this past week; let me know if you have any questions.
Make sure your essay contain:

- Thesis statement – This document tells us X about Y in Z period.
- Body paragraphs each have a point
- Body paragraphs contain examples (quotes & paraphrases) to support your points
- Footnotes every time you quote or paraphrase
- Proper formatting (double-spaced, 1-inch margins)
- Conclusion summarizes your main points
- Did you explain:
Who?
When?
Why?
